Talk Session - Introduction to Springer Nature’s Scholarly Communication Tools

Dear all,

Please be informed that the Library is collaborating with Springer Nature in organizing a small talk session on Research entitled “Introduction to Springer Nature’s Scholarly Communication Tools”.

The session will be held as below:

Date: 12th July 2017 (Wednesday)
Time: 10:00 am – 12:00 noon
Venue: Library Research Corner (inside Collaborative Study Area)
Presenter: En. Nurhazman Abdul Aziz

The session will be a Round Table Talk method and below are the topics that will be presented during the session:

Learning Points
1. Research Talk (General Research Oriented).
2. Introduction to Springer Nature – IMU Digital Resources .
3. Locate the article, journal & ebooks and get to know the journal structure
4. Scholarly communication cycle for new researchers
5. Using Tools by Springer Nature:
•         Author mapper
•         ORCID – Springer
•         Article-Level Metrics

6. Tips & Points provided by Springer Nature for early researchers
7. From time to time highlight IMU Research Corner during the talk.
8. Questions & Answers
* Method of Delivery: Round Table Talk.

For your information, the Library is currently subscribing to both Springer (listed as no. 18) and Nature (listed as no. 9) databases and they are accessible through the Library portal: http://i-lib.imu.edu.my/NewPortal/index.php/online/online-databases
This session will benefit Library users on how to utilize the databases effectively especially for research purpose.

We expect all new IMU faculty members who recently joined the university and other faculty members who are doing research as well as the post-graduate students to attend the session.
