Library User Appreciation Day - 21st August 2013

On 21^st August 2013 (Wednesday), Library department has organized a one day Library user day with this year's theme "Library User Appreciation Day". Below are the summary for the one day event:

Purpose:

1. Day to appreciate library users due to their continuous support to the library.
2. To promote the library facilities, services offered & resources available in the library.
3. To increase customer awareness both of the products and knowledge about the respective product desirable features and benefits.
4. To build strong customer relationships.

Activities were scheduled as below:

2	9.30 am – 12.00 pm	Database Clinic “ Learn & Win” i)                    Access Dunia (Clinical Key & Up to Date) ii)                   Proquest Library is collaborating with Access Dunia & ProQuest to conduct “Database Clinic” as well as Info. Search game for e-resources.  Target Audience:  Walk –in Staffs & Students Venue : Library Lobby
3	10.00 am – 12.00 noon	Library Info. Hunt Target Audience: Students Limit to 10 groups – each groups represented by 2 members.
4	10.00 am – 11.00 am	Info. Sharing Session – Clinical Key (Dr. Farouk Badawi)
5	1.30 pm – 2.00pm	E- Resources Map – Game created by Library PTS Target Audience: Walk in Student
6	Books Exhibition	i)                    Arrangement with the book supplier to have a book exhibition. At this time the lecturers can select books which they think relevant for the library to purchase and for the students who are interested to buy book as a personal reference, an arrangement will be made with the book supplier to give special discounted rate.  – Selected book supplier (Book Channel) ii)                   Catalogue Selections – for lecturers.

Conclusions:

Based from the good feedback and crowd received, the library promotional event will be continuously held next year. Online info. searching will be added to next year's event.
