Oxford University Press (OUP) New Platform Training

Dear all,

You are cordially invited to join a training session organized by Oxford University Press (OUP) . As you may already know, OUP platform are now different where they have combined all the ebook platform into one alongside with the journal platform. Thus, they are providing a training session to all users.

Clinical Key database training

Dear all,

Please be informed that the Library will organize a training session on using Clinical Key database as follow:

Date: 26th September 2018 (Wednesday)
Time: 10:00 am – 11:30 am
Venue: Library computer area (Inside Collaborative Study Area)
 Presenter: Keat Ang, Director of Business Development at ED Connect Sdn. Bhd.

The session will focus on changes and addition to the content of the database in recent months which includes:
- Clinical Overview
- Clinical Focus
- Clinical Comparison Report, Adverse Reaction Report, Drug Interaction Report, Drug Identifier, Do Not Crush List

To those recently joined the university (staff and students), you are encouraged to attend the session and do bring along your personal devices.

Reaxys database is now on trial

Dear all,

Please be informed that Reaxys database is now available on trial from 20th July 2018 – 19th August 2018.

You can access the platform by clicking this link or click Trials under Online tab in the Library portal: http://i-lib.imu.edu.my

The demonstration in utilizing the platform will be held as below:

EMBASE DATABASE IS NOW ON-TRIAL

Please be informed that Embase Database is now activated via trial and valid until 2nd June 2018.
Embase is a biomedical and pharmacological database of published literature designed to support information managers and pharmacovigilance in complying with the regulatory requirements of a licensed drug.

Scopus Database Hands-on Training

Dear all,

Please be informed that the Library with the help of Elsevier will be organizing a Scopus database training at IMU Bukit Jalil as below:

Date: 21st March 2016 (Monday)
Time: 2:00 pm – 3:30 pm
Venue: Library Computer Area, Bukit Jalil
Trainer: Lim Wee Li from Elsevier

The hands-on training session will focus on how to use available features in the database effectively. Currently, the database in on trial until 8th April 2016 and is accessible through the Library portal.

Scopus is the largest abstract and citation database of peer-reviewed research literature with over 21,000 titles from more than 5,000 international publishers, of which 20,000 are peer-reviewed journals in the scientific, technical, medical, and social sciences (including arts and humanities). The database is owned by Elsevier.

BMJ Learning database training


Dear all,

Please be informed that Library will organize a training on using BMJ Learning database. Below are the details:

Date: 19/11/2014
Time: 12:00 noon – 1:00 pm
Venue: Library computer area
Presenter: Miss TC Heng from Access Dunia

The database is crucial for medical and nursing students, doctors and nurses as it includes ECG skills and many relevant information based on specialities. Below is screenshot of the database after you have registered and log in into your personal account:


We encourage you to register your personal account prior to the training, thus attend the training to learn further how to complete the available portfolio, hence obtain BMJ certificate which is important for healthcare workers. For your information, MMA (Malaysian Medical Association) Library used to subscribe this database for it members.
Currently, the database is accessible in the Library portal under Trials (http://i-lib.imu.edu.my/NewPortal/index.php/online/trials/260-bmj-learning)

You are also encouraged to bring and use your own devices (tabs, ipads and iphones) during the training.

Ovid database training


Dear all,

Please be informed that the Library is organising a training session for Ovid database as per detail below:

This session is part of numerous actions we take to ensure that all subscribed / purchased databases is well utilised by IMU community.
