1. Which feature(s) I like the most about the database?
Personally, I like how all the materials are categorized neatly into three components – medical exhibit, medical illustration and medical animation. I can find the type of material, tailored to my needs with just one click (okay, maybe two clicks)! For example, I can conveniently obtain images to insert into reports or videos for presentations. Not to mention, the resolution of the illustrations, as well as animations is exceptionally high. Furthermore, SMART provides citation which minimises my workload.

Download illustrations and animations
Cite illustrations and animations
2. Has the database benefit you in your learning process?
Yes, significantly. I am visual and auditory learner. Hence, I am particularly fond of the various academic animations provided by SMART. For instance, I face great difficulties trying to understand the ventricular flow. I fail to visualise the structure and therefore the directional flow of cerebrospinal fluid. This is easily overcome with the help of a few videos. Other than anatomical videos, SMART also has videos and images on various pathological conditions. These pictures and videos are very precise; hence they serve good recap or last minute revision materials. Also, not to forget, SMART allows its users to play videos at different speed – 1x, 1.25x, 1.5x, 1.75x and 2x. This makes my learning process more effective.

3. Does the database suit you or any other programs and why?
Yes, I would say it is best suited for medical students. All the materials are very relevant to our course structure. For students from other programs, I would say SMART can be really helpful if you spend some extra time to browse and filter the materials.
4. Would you recommend this database to your colleagues and why?
Yes, definitely. As we all know, the VAK (Visual, Auditory and Kinaesthetic) style of learning is very effective. With SMART, you can checklist the first two elements and all you need is jot down the key points. Moreover, SMART is extremely easy to access and it has a wide variety of learning materials available.

1. What I like about the book?
I like about this ebook because it is fairly easy for me to find drug interaction by using it. Just type in the name of the two drugs then click search, the result will be shown. The interaction will be shown by categorising the drug into monographs instead of stating the name. For instance, cimetidine will have interaction with warfarin. We can type the name of these two drugs, but the result will show cimetidine as H2-receptor antagonist and warfarin as coumarin. This will familiarise us with the monograph of drugs as when using BNF to find drug interaction, we usually have to find based on drug monograph too.
2. Brief content of the book.
The main content of the book is about drug interaction. The interaction can be found based on monograph or in alphabetical order. For example, one of the monographs is digitalis glycosides (digoxin). After clicking in the monograph, a list of interaction between digoxin and other drugs will be shown, for instance, digoxin and ACE inhibitors. Some studies have found that digoxin level will increase when being administered together with captopril. Under interactant with alphabetical order, one of the examples is theophylline. After clicking in, one of the interactions shown is theophylline with tacrolimus. Theophylline may increase the plasma concentration of tacrolimus. There is clinical evidence being shown too.
3. Does it suit you or any other programs and why?
Yes, this ebook does suit my programme which is Pharmacy as in semester 4 there is one module known as skill development: dispensing. There is a session known as OSCE whereby we will be given prescription and we have to screen through the prescription to find out any drug interaction and give suitable suggestion to replace that particular drug. This ebook will show the interaction between drugs and explain the mechanism of interaction. Hence, it will be useful for this module for finding interaction between drugs.
4. Would you recommend this book to your colleagues and why?
Yes, I will recommend this book to my colleagues as the interaction is listed down clearly with clinical evidence and mechanism of interaction. Apart from that, the drug will be listed in monograph which help us to familiarise the drug is under which monograph and help us in finding drug interaction when using BNF as the interaction is listed in monograph instead of drug name. Moreover, the ebook is always updated so we can obtain the latest information regarding the drug interaction.

1. What I like about the book?
I like how the information is simple and straight to the point. The illustrations and pictures given for each explanation is very precise and suitable as the pictures shown are given in different planes for better grasp of the information. Some of the pictures also shows the procedures done step-by-step for easier understanding.
2. Brief content of the book
This book provides access to state-of-the-art concepts in orthodontics. This book focuses mainly on diagnosis and treatment planning, the management of transverse, sagittal, and vertical discrepancies, the management of both adult and complex cases, and the application of biomedicine in orthodontic treatment. As more adults seek orthodontic treatment, this book provides up-to-date information on adult cases. Part III, Management of Adult and Complex Cases of the book, concentrates on the treatment of adult patients and the problems and issues specific to them.
3. Does it suit you or any other programs and why?
This book suits me as it is more focused on case studies on complex cases. There are a lot of case studies given to show different scenarios and different approaches used. The chapter on “Quality Orthodontics: Challenging Popular Trends” suits me well as it explains the frequently asked questions regarding orthodontics such as the need to intrude mandibular rather than maxillary incisors and so on.
4. Would you recommend this book to your colleagues and why?
I would highly suggest this book for students in the higher semesters to use it as a reference to cases related to adults as it summarises important ideas and provides information on the follow-up effect of orthodontics on the patient. For example, in the chapter of “Use of Microimplants in Orthodontics”, the surgical procedures for implant placement from anaesthesia to placement angle to removal of microimplants are well documented and well-illustrated step-by-step.

1. What I like about the book?
It is a comprehensive book covering most of the topics on the module of oral and maxillofacial surgery in the phase 2 of Bachelor of Dental Surgery in IMU. This would be one of my first choices of book to go with when going in depth in this module.
2. Brief content of the book.
The book contains information from the basics to the more advanced aspects of oral and maxollofacial surgery which the latter is meant more for post-graduate. The basics from the fundamental knowledge on cellular response to trauma and wound healing, to diagnoses and managements of dentoalveolar injuries, maxillofacial traumas and midface fractures, are all discusses thoroughly in this book.
3. Does it suit you or any other programs and why?
It suits my dental colleagues and I as the topics on most undergraduate level on oral and maxillofacial surgery are covered in this book. Postgraduate students looking in depth into oral and maxillofacial surgery may find this book of good use too. Students from other programs may read for personal interest but the knowledge is irrelevant and quite complex to understand.
4. Would you recommend this book to your colleagues and why?
Yes I would recommend this book as one of the books for referencing on the oral and maxillofacial surgery module as it includes most of the topics for our undergraduate level. However, dental exodontia is not covered in this book.
