Ebscohost eBook Clinical Collection Trial for IMU Now Available

Dear all,

Pleased to inform you that we are bringing in for you the EbscoHost e-book trial from now until 16th Sept 2016. Please click this link ebscoHost e-book or  (http://i-lib.imu.edu.my/NewPortal/index.php/online/trials/423-ebscohost-ebook-clinical-collection-trial ).

It is indeed a very comprehensive package covers various subjects not limited to medicine only such as Psychology, Chinese Medicine, Education etc. They are all new publications.

You can read the full text by clicking the PDF Full Text icon or you can also download it on your smart devices to read offline by clicking the download icon. However, you need to create your personal account within the IMU Subscribed EbscoHost database prior to your downloading activity.

We would appreciate your feedback on this package especially in comparison with the e-brary collection that we have already subscribed since 7-8 years ago.

LIBRARY CLOSED IN CONJUNCTION WITH NUZUL AL-QURAN

Dear all,

Please be informed that IMU Library Bukit Jalil will be closed from 7:00 PM on 21/6/2016 (Tuesday) until 22/6/2016 (Wednesday) in conjunction with Nuzul Al-Quran. Library operation will resume as usual from 23/6/2016 (Thursday) onwards.

Talk session by Mr. Alexius from Psychology department

Dear all,

You are invited to attend a talk session, conducted by Mr. Alexius Cheang from Psychology department on “How to acquire Psychology  related contents through IMU Library portal”. Please refer below details:

Date: 29th June 2016 (Wednesday)
Time:  11:00 am – 12:00 noon
Location: Library computer area (inside Library, Collaborative Study Area), Bukit Jalil

Mr. Alexius will demonstrate various methods in locating and retrieving Psychology related contents available from IMU Library digital collection. The methods include:

1.       Identifying which e-resources are suitable for Psychology program (e-books and e-journals)
2.       Using Basic and Advanced Searches
3.       Filtering contents (Full text access or abstract)
4.       Using Ebsco Discovery Services (EDS) Search Engine
5.       Using appropriate and trusted guidelines related to Psychology

Attendance is compulsory for lecturers who are teaching Psychology students and students from Psychology program who are currently preparing  thesis and undertaking research subjects.

Newly joined faculty members are encouraged to attend this session. Though this session will focus on contents related to Psychology, similar approaches are applicable for other subjects as well.

BP Library Mini Book Exhibition (Surgery)

Dear all,

We are pleased to show case our e-books and printed books collection on Surgery for this month mini exhibition (from 13 June until 12 July 2016).

We have prepared some QR codes for you to direct access the e-books using your mobile devices. We hope you find it useful for your teaching and learning activities.

Students received Basic Information Literacy License (BILL) certificate

Congratulations to the students who received their Basic Information Literacy License (BILL) certificate after attending pilot programs of the course. 

Their certificate is downloadable through the e-Learning portal.

Through the pilot programs, the students now are able to:

• perform basic and advanced information searching in Medical and Health Sciences
• evaluate and filter resources based on set criteria
• use the information to communicate in a scientific manner

IMU Library (Bukit Jalil) Operating Hours from June to December 2016

Dear all,

Please be informed that IMU Library Bukit Jalil will be extending its operating hours on weekends beginning 11^th June 2016 during examination period:

Sunday	12:00 noon – 6:00 pm	8:30 am – 6:00 pm	31st July 2016

Please be informed that IMU Library WebOpac/Chamo via http://i-loc.imu.edu.my will not be available on 4th June 2016 from 7:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. due to power maintenance activity that will be carried out by FMA.

However, you still can access all e-books, e-journals and databases in our digital library collection from the Library Portal.

Library users are encouraged to renew their Library books before the mentioned date above to avoid unnecessary overdue fines.
